Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health Services
Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health Services serves infants, children, and adolescents with mental health, substance abuse, and prevention needs. The chosen approach for treatment is to care for the whole person within the context of family, school, and community.
Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health Services staff delivers comprehensive and coordinated services to bring about positive change in the lives of those served. Collaboration with the Juvenile Justice System, Office of Family Services, Jefferson Parish Public School System, the Truancy Assessment and Service Center as well as with other agencies.
Mental Health
- Psychiatric, psychological, and psycho-social evaluation services
- Medication treatment/management
- Individual, family and group therapy
- Intensive family intervention and services
- Early intervention (birth through age 5) for high-risk children
- Therapeutic services within the school setting
Substance Abuse
- Tobacco, alcohol and drug prevention through school- and community-based programs
- Substance abuse early intervention groups and treatment groups for adolescents and parents
- Evening Intensive Outpatient Program for adolescents
- Juvenile Drug Court treatment program (Multi-Systemic Therapy)
Community Support
- Interagency Service Council (ISC) coordination and facilitation
- Respite services (crisis and recreational)
- Parent support services

- Jefferson Parish Juvenile Services Functional Family Therapy Program
- Nurse-Family Partnership serving pregnant first-time mothers
